Charleston was born with a degenerative neuromuscular disease, Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1. Doctors told the family that there was no hope for him. However, there IS HOPE and we are fighting for it!!!! SMA can happen to anyone. 1 in 40 adults is a carrier of the SMA gene. Are you?
